Nancy Nusbaum
Nancy is a certified Kripalu Yoga Instructor and is currently enrolled in Kripalu’s Advanced Teacher Training program. She is also a certified Yoga Synthesis Instructor (Raji Thron) and has studied Integrated Positional Therapy and Structural Yoga Remedies with Lee Albert. Nancy has studied and trained with Shiva Rea (Pathways of Flow) and has pursued continuing education in Cerebral Dominance and Left Brain/Right Brain. She is also trained in Reiki.
Kripalu yoga is an inquiry into who we are through movement, breath, and awareness. It offers tools for transformation, healing, and living in our sometimes overwhelming culture through breath-centered, meditation-infused, self-care classes. Along the way, you may begin to notice that yoga helps us cope more skillfully—and even beyond that—develop a sense of awe, grace, and reverence for our daily lives.
Nancy loves gardening, star-gazing, music, playing the piano, and most recently is attempting to learn to play the guitar…albeit at baby-step pace!...and being with her beloved dogs. She worked in the Department of Instruction & Training at The Seeing Eye and raised 21 puppies in their program to grow up and become loving guides for individuals who have lost the precious gift of sight. Dogs continue to be a major joy in her life—including the upward-dog and downward-dog type!
She is honored and blessed to be part of the Prana Yoga community.
Testimonials
“Nancy’s classes are like dropping into a warm cup of chai. She explains why we’re doing things and what the benefits are and makes it fun. I appreciate the balance between body, soul and science. Nancy is warm and welcoming and finds the inspiration for class topics all over her regular day…today it was the disrespect her doggie felt after being treated at the vet and how it was able to shake it off afterward. Now I am a girl who loves a metaphor so this was right down my alley. Thanks Nancy!” - SV
“Nancy’s True Beginner class was nothing shy of pure magic. I felt as though I was being guided by an angel. The energy of the entire class was energizing and we moved harmoniously. What a wonderful way to start the week.” - BC
“This was my first time taking Nancy’s class, and it was amazing! She introduced herself to new practitioners and made everyone feel comfortable. I felt safe and cared for, and her breathing exercises were excellent, especially the way she explained their benefits. I will definitely be taking this class more regularly. Thank you, Nancy!” - MD
