Amanda Amabile, RYT 200

Registered Yoga Teacher, Yoga Teacher Community Group continued studies, NYS Licensed Hiking and Camping Guide, Hairdresser

A graduate of the Aligned Flow 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program designed by Christy Linson, Amanda first came to yoga as a former dancer seeking support for a body constantly in motion. Over time, her practice deepened beyond the physical, revealing the richness of yoga’s community, spiritual inquiry, and capacity for emotional release.

As a Hairdresser, Licensed Hiking and Camping Guide, and lifelong student of yoga, Amanda finds purpose in serving others. She brings her ongoing studies into all of her spaces - on the mat, in the salon, and on the trail- creating experiences that honor each individual’s unique body and journey. Her classes are thoughtfully designed to encourage personal exploration, offering students the freedom to connect with themselves in a way that feels authentic and supportive.

Amanda is the co-creator of the “Holding the World Within” Workshop series designed to use  yoga, breath, meditation, and sound to hold space for grief, loss, mental health, social justice, lived experiences, the stories we carry, and the narratives we create.

Testimonials

“Amanda was awesome! Her cueing and explanations were great! I was in the back of the room and I normally need a visual...didn't need it. Thank you for a great workout and looking forward to taking more classes you teach! Namaste!”

“After being on a plane for 7 hours, Amanda’s class was exactly what I needed! Strong, well thought out, yet relaxing at the same time! Love this class!”

“Amanda was a great sub for Christy's gentle class this morning. We moved with our breath while gaining strength & mobility. I have taken her flow class in the past & I love her style of teaching.”

Get to know Amanda…

What is a challenge in your own yoga practice?

I continue to work on quieting the inner critic, surrendering control, and letting my practice be a space of curiosity rather than judgment. I have to remind myself (as I often do when teaching)  that my practice is enough, just as it is.

What is something you’ve learned about yourself from teaching yoga?

Teaching yoga has deepened my ability to trust the process, release my attachment to outcomes, and let go of judgment around how each moment “should” be, allowing it to unfold as it’s meant to.

What about teaching lights you up the most?

What lights me up most about teaching is holding space for others to reconnect with themselves, trust their own experience, and come home to themselves- feeling supported just as they are.
